Convert MKV Files with MKV Converter
Click on the "Add File" button on the tool bar. Select the file you want to convert and click "Open". The file will be added to the conversion file list.
Select output formatUse the setting panel on the bottom of the window to control the output format. Click on the toggle on the left of the "Profile" label to expand the panel.
Click on the "Settings" label to expand the panel. Enter the video resolution and/or frame rate.
Change Video Settings
You can change the Encoder, Resolution, Bitrate, and frame rate of the video. The size of the output file depend a lot on the chosen video Encoder.
Change Audio SettingsClick on "Settings" label to expand the panel.
Select the audio Encoder for the conversion. According to the Decoder, you may also change the sample rate, channel (stereo or mono) and bitrate.
Select output directoryUse the "Browse" button to select an output directory.
